Vogue: Zadar among the 25 of the world’s best

Zadar and its sea organ are one of 25 world attractions which should be visited, said the British magazine Vogue in the December, 2008 issue. In the text with a headline “Dream places offering genuine enjoyment,” right by the beauties of Greek islands, New Zealand beaches where the movie “Piano” was shot, colourful streets of Rio, their place was found by the magnificent sea organ, a new age symbol of Zadar. “A place where the sea and land meet in Zadar is magical, like it is Neptune himself playing the harmonica,” described the Vogue journalist.

Vogue is a prestigious magazine founded 102 years ago which participates in creating fashion trends, as well as travel trends. There was also a two-minute movie dedicated to the world-famous sea organ and their author, architect Nikola Bašić, on the web pages of National Geographic, when the new Zadar attraction “The Greeting to the Sun” was announced, and which got considerable attention from the public.

The sea organ was built in 2005 on the Zadar coast, close to the new docking are for cruiser ships. The energy of the sea, air and wind are responsible for the eternal concert of the sea organ, which attracts many Zadrans and guests of the city with its music and look, and it has become an attraction which gets a great deal of international attention.
